The Mortgage Choice broker network donated $418,843 to 67 charities across Australia in the 2026 financial year through its Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation (MCCF), including more than $100,750 to national charity partner Starlight Children's Foundation.
The foundation is funded through voluntary contributions from Mortgage Choice brokers, who can opt in to donate $5 for every loan they settle over $100,000, supplemented by an annual $150,000 contribution from REA Group.
Since the foundation's launch in 2022, it has donated more than $1.5 million to registered Australian charities focused on supporting vulnerable groups, housing and financial literacy.
Mortgage Choice CEO Anthony Waldron (pictured) said the network's community involvement was a defining feature of the business.
"Being community champions is something that is baked into the DNA of the Mortgage Choice network. Since we launched the foundation, we've donated over $1.5million to charities in every corner of the country," Waldron said.
He added that the scale of broker participation continued to stand out.
"I'm incredibly proud of the way our brokers rally around the MCCF year after year and have such a tremendous impact on vulnerable Australians by giving back to the communities they live and work in," Waldron said.
Brokers also contributed volunteer hours to local charities during the year, including taking part in the Matagarup Bridge walk for Beyond Blue in Perth, painting homes through Habitat for Humanity's Brush with Kindness program in Sydney, and packing supplies for the Avalon Centre and Big Group Hug in Melbourne.
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter said the partnership had a tangible impact on the charity's work supporting seriously ill children.
"Their support has enabled 2,568 children to experience the fun, connection and positive distraction of our Starlight Express Rooms during their hospital stay," Baxter said.
MCCF national committee chairperson Donna Campbell said the pooled structure of the foundation amplified individual contributions.
"Through the charity foundation, our broker network can make a much bigger difference than any one of us could alone," Campbell said.
Alongside its ongoing support for state-based charities nominated by the network, the MCCF has selected Farm Angels as its incoming charity partner for FY27, supporting Australian farmers facing financial and livelihood challenges across more than 1,300 regional communities.
Farm Angels has provided financial assistance, food hampers, care packs, and mental wellbeing support to more than 4,700 primary producers affected by drought, flood, fire and other natural disasters since its founding, according to the charity's own website.
Campbell said the foundation was "proud to announce Farm Angels as our next National Charity Partner" and looked forward to "standing side-by-side with our farming communities throughout FY27."
