Mortgage Choice has announced the resignation of CEO John Flavell, who has been in the position for the past three years.

With his resignation effective from today, 3 April, he will be replaced by former Chief Financial Officer Susan Mitchell.

The company has praised the work of Mr Flavell in growing the business.

He joined Mortgage Choice in April 2015 after a role at National Australia Bank's MLC, where he was the executive general manager, wealth advice.

He also held previous roles at Aussie Home Loans and RAMS Home Loans.

Mortgage Choice Chairman, Vicki Allen, said “We thank John for his leadership and efforts at Mortgage Choice during his tenure as CEO, and wish him well in his future endeavours.

“We are delighted Susan has reconsidered her recently announced intention to pursue another opportunity and instead lead our business. The Board has confidence that she has the necessary skills to lead Mortgage Choice. She is a very talented executive and her in-depth experience with the company will ensure a smooth transition of leadership."
