NAB has ranked first for relationship strength, according to the 2022 Peter Lee Associates Large Corporate and Institutional Banking Survey, a leading indicator of performance across wholesale banking in Australia.

Voted number one for relationship strength by Australia’s biggest companies, NAB now holds this title for relationship banking, transactional banking, debt origination, foreign exchange, and interest rate derivatives – the first time any bank has achieved this at the same time.

NAB’s Corporate and Institutional Bank received a leading net promoter score (NPS) of +41 – the highest of any bank in Australia. NPS measures customer loyalty and satisfaction with a company.

NAB’s Corporate and Institutional bankers, meanwhile, were ranked first in relationship manager capability, as well as recognised as the most trusted advisers in the market, and for providing insights and advice on ESG2.

David Gall, NAB Group executive corporate and institutional banking, said this was NAB’s strongest ever Peter Lee result.

“Every day our most important job is serving our customers well,” Gall said. “Our dedicated bankers are focused on providing support and building deep relationships, along with helping customers access the right products and services, and this result reflects this. Feedback is a gift that helps us improve, and I thank our clients for their participation in the survey.”

In the transaction banking survey, NAB achieved its highest platform performance index for NAB Connect, NAB’s online bank for businesses.

“We have invested heavily in our transactional offer and improved our digital platforms, and it is again demonstrating this is the right way forward for our clients,” Gall said.

In debt originations, NAB ranked first for both relationship strength and quality of service for the eighth consecutive year.

“I extend my congratulations and thanks to our talented team who have a deep understanding and offer outstanding banking expertise to our customers, including in the growing area of ESG financial innovations,” Gall said.
