A new boutique mortgage broking firm has been launched with a focus on connecting brokers with competitive finance options across Australia.

Based in Potts Point, Leo Loans & Finance has been formed by Patrick Leo, a real estate agency specialising in investment sales and property management, to deliver a personalised mortgage broking service to the Australian property-buying market and cater to the growing demand for refinancing from owner-occupiers and investors across Greater Sydney.

“Leo Loans was formed in response to growing demand from our clients,” said James Nihill, managing director of Patrick Leo. “It will deliver a seamless and fully integrated service to our investors, streamlining the borrowing process, and enhancing efficiencies by eliminating the need for them to deal with multiple external parties.”

Nihill said investors continued to be particularly active, with current interest rates being less of a barrier to buying than in the owner-occupier market.

“Investment activity remains buoyant, driven by market fundamentals of strong rents, low vacancies, and high population growth combined with the forecast shortage in housing supply in most capitals,” he said.

Helming Leo Loans & Finance as head of finance is Kurt Ackermann (pictured above), a seasoned broker with an impressive track record of success and years of experience at high-profile banking institutions including the Commonwealth Bank and HSBC.

“It’s a brutal market out there in 2023, and it has never been more critical to ensure borrowers have access to confident lending advice and the best products available,” Ackermann said.

In a statement, Leo Loans & Finance said it is committed to delivering a highly personalised service and sourcing competitive and flexible home loan products tailored to the individual needs of each borrower, while at the same time, streamlining the home loan approvals process, to take the stress out of portfolio-building and first homeownership.

Patrick Leo, owner of Leo Loans & Finance was formed in 2014 by Managing Director James Nihill, a fully licensed estate agent with more than 26 years of financial services and real-estate experience. The specialist investment real estate agency holds real estate licenses in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia, and offers investment sales, property management and consultancy services.
