Due to a surge in new business volume, a non-bank lender has bolstered its lending team with a new credit officer.

Australian First Mortgage has recruited Rob Maloney to the NSW credit team as a credit services officer. Maloney has a wealth of industry experience backing him, having spent the last 20 years at mortgage manager BMC Mortgage Corporation as a national sales and credit manager.

“I am looking forward to further develop my own abilities as well as formulating cross-functional decisions with an understanding based on my many years of experience in the financial services sector,” Maloney said.

David White, managing director at AFM, said the increase in new business volumes has resulted in a few internal promotions and reshuffling of existing staff to sales positions, but it is important that AFM maintains its service levels.

“Looking after our broker channel with quick turnarounds on credit decisions is our priority, and with Rob’s wealth of experience we are confident our established service commitment will be maintained,” he said.

White also said AFM is looking to recruit additional business managers for its operations in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.
