Fintech Tic:Toc has appointed Shantell Williams as its new chief technology officer.

She joins from The Purple Group, a global financial services company based in Williams’ native South Africa, where she was in post as vice president of software development.

Williams was part of a massive growth spurt at Purple Group, which saw the firm, which works across investment markets, property investment and asset management, to add 220% to their stock price in just 12 months.

Tic:Toc has enjoyed great growth in recent months, culminating in agreeing a $25 billion funding deal with Bendigo & Adelaide Bank and beginning a partnership with Aussie Home Loans.

The Adelaide-based digital lender now can boast a 62% female leadership group, with 44% of all staff being women.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team driving Tic:Toc’s next phase of growth,” said Williams. “The company’s innovative technology vision and foundations were what drew me in from the start.”

“My priorities are to build upon the team’s strengths as they transition from startup to scaleup and support the evolution of our proprietary technology.”

“Tic:Toc is guided by its diverse workforce — from a diversity of talent and people to the diversity of thought — and its continuous approach to education and development of its staff. The commitment to these values has been a key part of the business's growth.”

“Fintechs in Australia are evolving faster than ever, accelerated by the pandemic, changing customer needs, innovative technologies, and new industry challenges.”

“Tic:Toc is committed to offering the best solutions in both the consumer and enterprise markets, significantly reducing the cost and complexities involved in lending processes.”

Tic:Toc CEO and founder Andrew Baum added: "I’m thrilled to welcome Shantell to Tic:Toc.”

“Shantell joins us at a pivotal time as we accelerate our capacity to respond to the surge in demand for digital lending and our technologies.”

“Our model of running a direct to consumer digital home loan as well as offering our technology to the industry, puts Tic:Toc’s platform at the core of our business, and Shantell’s strong technology and innovation background will be invaluable to us.”

“I look forward to having her lead our cross-functional technology team as we scale and strengthen our customer platform experience and enterprise offerings."
