La Trobe Financial has announced its relocation to a larger premises at the Chifley Tower in Sydney’s financial district.

The specialist funds manager says it intends to continue to ‘expand its footprint’ in the Sydney market, having recently appointed a new senior manager, client partnerships, to the existing team of and intends to further increase the Sydney team on the ground staff in the coming months as business conditions continue to improve.

“It was time for La Trobe Financial to expand its operations in Sydney because it is one of the largest markets in the country and we have increasing business from one of our lead sources in Sydney to support this move,” says La Trobe Financial CEO, Greg O’Neill.

“We are currently seeing in excess of $1b per year of quality investment grade asset originations and growth from NSW and Sydney has warranted this expansion to serve our clients from a more local basis. We are competing well with these inbound volumes and punching above our weight.”

La Trobe Financial will be sharing the floor at Chifley with the Agricultural Bank of China, the world’s eighth largest bank.

Randal Williams, La Trobe Financial’s chief wealth management officer, says he remembers when La Trobe Financial first met with the Agricultural Bank of China back in 2009, conducting a presentation for the Bank in Beijing.

“From this very first moment, the relationship has just gone from strength to strength and we are delighted to be working on the same floor as the Bank here in Australia.”

La Trobe Financial will be announcing further staff appointments shortly.
