A specialist mortgage broker has announced the restructuring of its management team, as the founder steps aside to make room for the group’s first ever chief executive.

Home Loan Experts founder and owner Otto Dargan shared the news Alan Hemmings will assume the role of CEO on 1 September 2020, after having joined the team in late 2019 to learn the business from the inside out.

Prior to joining the team, Hemmings served as general manager of Oxygen Home Loans following a decade spent working in broker-facing roles at St. George.

According to Dargan, this “next evolution” of Home Loan Experts has long been in the works.

“We have spent the last two years positioning the business for continued growth and strengthening the management team; this announcement continues that,” he said.

“I am not leaving the company. Rather, I will focus on a few key aspects of the business and allow Alan to run [the] day to day.

“Alan joined us ten months ago and has helped to grow the broker team. He will now be tasked with managing the entire broking business along with our outsourcing division. ”

Hemmings expressed excitement over transitioning roles within the Sydney-based brokerage and ramping up his involvement with the offshore team in Nepal.

“My time with Home Loan Experts has been really enjoyable as I’ve watched brokers continue their growth and seen some amazing results over the last financial year,” he said.

“We want to continue the growth in the mortgage broking division, making sure we continue to provide the tools for the brokers to improve their productivity.

“For our outsourcing division, [I plan] to work with the team to make sure we continue to provide exceptional service to our existing partners as we look to grow our servicing offering and attract new partners,” Hemmings added.

“I look forward to working with Otto and the rest of the management team to continue growing the business.”
