Two organisations have teamed up to provide industry wide masterclasses on commercial and equipment finance (EF) lending.

The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) and Vow Financial are rolling out the 2018 Industry Commercial Lending Masterclass in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Six sessions will be held over each day, presented by key players in the commercial lending space: Think Tank, Suncorp, St George, Macquarie, ING and Core Logic.

Topics to be covered during the day will include SMSF opportunities, leasing opportunities and preparing lender submissions. Brokers will be provided with detailed workbooks to go alongside each presentation.

Glenn Mitchell, head of commercial and leasing at Vow/Yellow Brick Road, said he was approached by Peter White from the FBAA with a vision to deliver relevant training material for brokers wanting to diversify.

Mitchell, with more than 30 years’ experience in commercial lending, felt that more could be done in the area.

He said, “A number of lenders have now rolled out quality training sessions that is ideal for brokers wanting diversify into commercial and EF products.

“The timing for this education piece has never been more critical than right now for brokers, with lenders appetite in residential lending changing by the day.

“Peter and myself have brought together the best intel from each lender who will deliver everything from introduction to commercial and EF lending opportunities, to reading financials, to putting together a credit submission together, along with growth in SMSF in Commercial to Core Logic delivery of data relevant in each state of the SME markets.”

The workshop counts towards 5 CPD hours and will be held in Brisbane on 19 July, in Melbourne on 24 July and in Sydney on 26 July.
