An industry executive has designed a series of courses to equip mortgage brokers and lenders with the sound knowledge base needed to successfully diversify into other markets.

Dominic Lambrinos, principal of Chifley Securities, has launched INIC Institute which now offers a range of “easy to understand” programmes pertaining to property, asset and cashflow finances, as well as the interpretation of financial statements.

“Mortgage broking is about to experience a seismic shift in its structure and there has never been a more important time to understand the fundamentals of accounts, commercial property funding, cashflow and asset lending,” explained Lambrinos.

Completion of the courses will earn brokers 7 CPD points and are priced at $397, with a trial covering the first three modules at just $1.

INIC provides a deep dive into two major areas of broker diversification: asset finance, with details on the different types of leases and how they are structured; as well as property finance, with exploration of finance facilities for purchases, construction and land and equity releases.

According to Scott Pater, broker at Capital Empire, “The course was more relevant to the corporate working environment than the university courses [for my finance degree].”

Roslyn Dooney, VP of incubation at Secure Private Equity, expressed a similar sentiment.

“Despite an MBA from a prestigious German business school and more than a decade in the world of financial services, I have never come across a course that explains how to make sense of financial statements so clearly, and in a way that everyone can understand,” she said.
