The countdown is on: secure your table for the 2026 Australian Mortgage Awards

The 2026 Australian Mortgage Awards (AMAs) are fast approaching, and now is your chance to secure a table.

Widely regarded as the Oscars of Australia's mortgage and finance sectors, the AMAs shine a spotlight on the individuals, organisations and achievements driving the sector forward. Each year, the event brings together the industry’s leading voices and key stakeholders — from brokers, lenders and aggregators to brokerages, BDMs and service providers — for an unforgettable night dedicated to celebrating excellence, recognising outstanding achievement and honouring those who have made a significant impact over the past 12 months.

More than an awards night, the AMAs are a chance to connect with the people shaping the future of the industry, celebrate the successes of the past year and recognise the businesses and individuals setting new benchmarks for excellence. The annual event is produced by Key Media and presented in partnership with Australian Broker and Mortgage Professional Australia (MPA).

Winners will be revealed on the night of the event, Friday, 16 October, at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney's Grand Ballroom, 1 Martin Place, Sydney. Networking and drinks begin at 7 p.m. The awards program and three-course meal begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress in their sharpest black tie attire.

The 2026 event includes Australian singer and actress Kate Ceberano as the feature act, with Emalia Jane, aka DJ Em, supplying the tunes, and Australian TV presenter and author Andrew Daddo as MC.

Industry's biggest names on what makes the AMAs worth celebrating

Australian Broker spoke to some of this year’s sponsors about why recognising excellence across the mortgage and finance industry matters. And why the AMAs are an event not to be missed. From celebrating the achievements of this year’s finalists to bringing the industry together under one roof, sponsors share what makes the AMAs such an important fixture on this year's industry calendar.

"The Australian Mortgage Awards give us an important opportunity each year to stop and recognise the people and businesses who are genuinely raising the bar across our industry. They celebrate professionalism, innovation and a real commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for clients, qualities that sit at the heart of everything mortgage and finance brokers do.

As our industry continues to grow, it becomes even more important to recognise the individuals and organisations helping build that trust, lift standards and demonstrate the value mortgage and finance brokers deliver every single day. Awards like these are one of the best ways we have to do that. Awards play an important role in showcasing the strength, diversity and professionalism of our industry. They shine a light on the businesses and individuals who are leading by example, embracing innovation, investing in their people and continually finding better ways to serve their clients.

Becoming a finalist is a significant achievement, and it should never be understated. It reflects the dedication, expertise and commitment that goes into supporting clients every day, often through some of the most important financial decisions of their lives. Finalists should be incredibly proud because they have been recognised by their peers for the genuine, positive contribution they are making to our industry. Regardless of the final result on the night, being named a finalist is recognition of the professionalism, hard work and client focus that underpins long term success, not just for the individual or business, but for the reputation of our industry as a whole. I want to congratulate every finalist and thank them for continuing to set the standard for what a great mortgage and finance broker looks like."

"The Australian Mortgage Awards give us an important opportunity to recognise the people and organisations who are raising the standard across our industry. Celebrating the achievements of brokers, brokerages, lenders, aggregators and business development managers shines a light on the expert role they play in helping Australians navigate one of life’s biggest financial decisions.

Recognising high achievers helps build trust and credibility in the mortgage sector. Industry awards also help set new benchmarks for what a great mortgage experience should feel like. Rewarding outstanding work, people and processes feeds a healthy ambition that benefits everyone by driving better service, stronger collaboration and more innovation, all designed to deliver the right outcomes for homebuyers.

The Australian Mortgage Awards are one of the most anticipated recognition events on the mortgage industry calendar, so being named a finalist is a significant achievement. The calibre of the competition is consistently high and each finalist has demonstrated excellence worthy of being recognised on the national stage, whether that is for outstanding customer service, strong leadership, innovation, business growth or a meaningful contribution to the industry. I hope every finalist feels incredibly proud of this well-earned honour, and I wish them all the very best for the awards.”

Chief commercial officer at non-bank lender Bluestone Home Loans

"The Australian Mortgage Awards shine a spotlight on the people and businesses raising the bar for our industry. Every day, brokers help Australians navigate incredibly important financial decisions, often in complex circumstances, and these awards recognise the dedication, expertise and service that make a real difference to borrowers. Celebrating excellence not only acknowledges outstanding achievement, it inspires the entire industry to keep evolving and delivering better outcomes.

Awards  like the AMAs create an opportunity to celebrate success stories, recognise the best in the industry and showcase the positive impact brokers have on their clients and local communities. They reinforce the high standards our industry continues to set and inspire everyone to keep raising the bar. For those attending, it's also a valuable chance to connect with peers, hear firsthand from some of the industry's top performers and come away with fresh ideas and inspiration for their own business.

Being named a finalist is a significant achievement in itself. The calibre of talent across the industry is exceptionally strong, so reaching this stage demonstrates that their efforts have stood out among their peers. Every finalist should be incredibly proud of the contribution they've made and the impact they're having on the industry."

"Our industry should always be striving to improve. The percentage of the market share we enjoy is built on trust from our customers, and this is driven by excellence in service, knowledge, skills and professionalism. Those within our industry who we honour as part of these awards can be proud of their achievement and deserve recognition.

Any recognition of outstanding achievement, particularly from our peers, is something to be proud of. However, it should also encourage others to strive to do better. When we encourage each other and are all focused on improvement, both our customers and our industry benefits. It’s not easy to stand out in an industry that is continually advancing and achieving. Only a few can be the best of the best."

Chris Byrne

Group head of marketing at aggregator group Finsure

"These awards offer an important platform to recognise individuals and businesses whose achievements may not always receive the attention they deserve. There are so many remarkable stories across our industry and to be able to share them publicly not only celebrates those involved, but also inspires others forging their own path.

Beyond highlighting the amazing achievements of our peers, awards like these help create a real sense of community across our industry. Every year, they bring together established leaders and emerging talent, create opportunities to build meaningful relationships, and showcase the depth and diversity of expertise within our field. I also believe they provide an insight into how our industry is evolving and how far we’ve come.

It's no small thing being named an excellence awardee. Beyond the fact that their work is among the highest standard in the industry, it offers validation for their commitment, effort and hard work, which often happens behind the scenes (usually, for many years), and may otherwise go unrecognised."

Sean O'Malley

Group executive at AMP Bank

"It's really important that we celebrate innovation, professionalism and the commitment of those who help people through such an important financial process. Awards showcase best practice and highlight the ideas, technologies and customer outcomes shaping the future of lending. They encourage the industry to keep improving and provide an opportunity to learn from those leading the way.

Finalists should be incredibly proud. Recognition reflects not only strong business performance, but also the trust they've built with customers and the positive impact they're having across the industry."
