NAB and PayPal have joined forces to introduce a new feature allowing NAB customers to easily add their debit and credit cards to their PayPal wallet directly from the NAB app.

This innovation marks PayPal’s inaugural bank account linking collaboration in Australia, aimed at simplifying the online payment process for users.

Effortless setup process

The integration process, designed to be both quick and intuitive, enables NAB customers to link their cards to PayPal in less than a minute.

The service automatically recognises customers with existing PayPal accounts through their email addresses, offering a straightforward option to add their NAB card to their PayPal wallet.

Additionally, users can select their NAB card as their preferred PayPal payment method, enhancing the online shopping experience.

The account linking feature is available to consumers with NAB-issued credit and debit cards, though some business cards may not qualify.

Enhancing customer experience

Paul Riley (pictured above), NAB personal banking executive, highlighted the initiative’s aim to enrich online shopping for Australians. He noted the growing preference for digital over physical wallets and emphasised the convenience of having NAB cards readily accessible within PayPal for a seamless and secure payment experience.

“We know customers love using PayPal and so we wanted to partner to make that set-up even easier,” Riley said. “By integrating PayPal’s add card experience into our mobile banking app, customers heading to the checkout using PayPal will have their NAB debit and credit cards readily available, making for a simple and safe digital experience.”

Streamlining digital payments

Andrew Toon, senior director of product management at PayPal Australia, praised the service’s user-friendly and secure design. He underscored PayPal’s commitment to reducing complexity and enhancing digital payment experiences.

“Once customers add or update their card details in PayPal, everywhere they use PayPal to make payments will have access to that updated information,” Toon said.
