After exhibiting strong and consistent growth, an Australian non-bank has received two international awards at a London event.

La Trobe Financial was recognised as both ‘Best Non-Bank – Australia’ and ‘Best Investment Management Company – Australia’ by UK-based International Finance.

Chief lending officer, Cory Bannister said, “This is the third consecutive time we have been bestowed [best non-bank in Australia]. Our current growth rate to over $8bn of Assets Under Management (AUM) is a reflection of our operating cadence in a quickly changing landscape affecting housing and commercial credit formation and its regulation in Australia.

“It is more important than ever for us to continue our important work and fill any actual credit formation gaps in the market and assist consumers. We have one of Australia’s broadest product suites in the market. This allows us to better serve our finance brokers and direct customers at every stage of their borrowing lifecycle. We continue to focus on helping Australians achieve their dream of home ownership and financial independence.”

International Finance Magazine focuses on emerging markets in the Asia Pacific region, recognising fund managers who display excellence in the finance industry and top-performing organisations exhibiting notable levels of innovation.

La Trobe Financial chief investment officer, Chris Andrews said, “This is the sixth consecutive time that La Trobe Financial has won [best investment management company in Australia] and clearly acknowledges the fantastic efforts of our 380 experienced and hardworking staff in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

“In these times of uncertainty, volatility and low interest rates, investors are looking for capital stable returns which have a proven track record of delivering to retail and institutional investors over many decades and in all economic conditions. We continue to focus on our core competency of providing access to investment grade assets for all investors.”
