The countdown is on to submit your nominations for the Australian Mortgage Awards (AMAs). But time is running out: ballots close on 3 July.
Widely regarded as the Oscars of Australia's mortgage and finance sectors, the AMAs recognise the outstanding individuals, organisations and accomplishments shaping the industry. The annual event brings together key stakeholders from across the profession — including brokers, lenders, aggregators, brokerages, BDMs and service providers — to celebrate excellence, honour achievement and acknowledge those making a significant impact on the industry over the last 12 months.
"The Australian Mortgage Awards give people in our industry a chance to be recognised for the work they’re doing day in, day out, often behind the scenes," Tony MacRae, chief commercial officer at non-bank lender Bluestone Home Loans, told Australian Broker. Bluestone was both a sponsor and award winner at the 2025 celebration.
"I think it also lifts the whole industry," MacRae continued. "It highlights the standards we should all be aiming for, whether that’s client outcomes, service or innovation. And when you’re part of that, even as a finalist, it gives you a real sense of momentum heading into the next chapter of your career.”
The annual event is produced by Key Media and presented in partnership with both Australian Broker and Mortgage Professional Australia (MPA).
But before any award recipients are announced, the industry’s top performers must first earn a place among the finalists. Being shortlisted is a significant achievement in itself, offering industry-wide recognition for outstanding work and dedication. Beyond the prestige, a nomination can strengthen professional credibility, raise visibility among peers and clients, and help create new opportunities for growth and success.
"For brokers in particular, it's not just about the trophy. It can really change the trajectory of their career. It builds credibility; it puts their name in front of your peers. And it opens up conversations and opportunities that might not have happened otherwise," MacRae said.
Daniel Green, director and mortgage broker at Queensland-based Green Finance Group, took home the "La Trobe Financial Broker of the Year — Commercial" award.
"Recognition like this runs deeper than a title. It confirms the commitment to client service behind everything we do and cements the credibility of our whole team," he said. "For clients, it carries real weight, the confidence of knowing they're trusting the right professionals with big decisions. If there's a broker or business whose work you really respect, put them forward. For them, that recognition isn't just a pat on the back, it can really help fuel business growth.”
Julian Fayad, founder and chief executive officer of Sydney-based asset finance and fintech firm LoanOptions.AI also encouraged market players to vote. "Because this is an opportunity to recognise those who have been impactful to you and your business. Besides the trophy, the recognition and credibility that comes from winning the award can really help that person and their business."
Fayad's firm took home the 2025 "NAB Best Industry Service" award.
