Ubank is in the business of making dreams come true.
The lender — which falls under the National Australia Bank (NAB) parent company — has unveiled a new campaign where one lucky borrower will have their mortgage payments covered for a year, up to $100,000.
The initiative is a first for Ubank. The lender said it is in response to cost-of-living pressures and rising property prices that are increasingly making it difficult for would-be homeowners to get on the property ladder. In addition, the firm said the campaign is meant to help brokers engage with potential borrowers, offering more options.
"A home loan is one of life's biggest commitments, and too often it means raining in the way you live. We want to change that," said Sascha Hunt, Ubank's chief marketing officer. "This campaign gives one lucky Ubank home loan customer the chance to spend up to a whole year not thinking about repayments and instead enjoying the life they've worked so hard building. It's our way of giving someone a little more freedom to focus on what matters most."
Borrowers who apply for a new Ubank home loan between 9 March and 30 April for $250,000 or more will automatically be entered into the drawing. Loans must be settled by 31 August. One mortgage holder will receive 12 months of repayments, capped at $100,000. The drawing takes place this September, with the prize paid out between October 2026 and September 2027. Entrants must be 18 years or older, and a citizen or permanent resident to win.
The lender continues to up the ante. Early last year, Ubank unveiled its mortgage broker platform 2.0. The updated system was designed to streamline the broker lodgement experience with faster service, more flexibility and a more user-friendly interface.
The updated platform was quickly followed by recognition at the 2025 Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia's (MFAA) national conference and Excellence Award ceremony, where Ubank was honoured with the "Fintech Lender Award."
Three months later, Ubank was a finalist for two awards at the 2025 Australian Mortgage Awards (AMAs), produced by Australian Broker parent company Key Media. Ubank walked away with "RedZed Fintech Lender of the Year" award.
The awards cemented Ubank's place as a tech-driven leader in lending.
"We have to be in it to win it, first and foremost," George Srbinovski, head of broker distribution at Ubank, told Australian Broker.
"We spent a lot of time talking to brokers around how we can improve our process," he explained. "We wanted to have a wonderful working relationship with many brokers out there. And we've really pioneered and been at the forefront of digital within broker [distribution channels] for many, many years.
“With many Australians choosing to purchase via a broker, we understand the importance of continually investing in broker tools and technology to make it easy when they choose to lodge deals with us,” Srbinovski continued. “We’re committed to giving brokers cutting‑edge technology and powerful tools that streamline lodgements, reduce friction and drive real efficiencies."
