Westpac continues to shuffle its senior leadership team.
The major bank has hired Adam Croucher as its state general manager for the Victorian/Tasmanian broker business for both Westpac and the Bank of Melbourne brand. Croucher, who started his tenture with Westpac on Monday, reports to Sarah Willsallen, Westpac's head of broker distribution.
Croucher has been tasked with running the broker channel across both brands in Victoria and Tasmania, overseeing relationships, policy strategy and technology. He replaces Suzanne Wood, who stepped into the role of Westpac head of home lending in June.
"Adam is a deep thinker who understands the entire broker ecosystem, including brokers, aggregators and lenders," Willsallen told Australian Broker. "He is a strong relationship builder and cares deeply for this people and supporting their growth and development."
A Commonwealth Bank alum, Croucher spent more than 19 years at the rival major bank, holding several senior leadership positions, including general manager of third-party banking.
Most recently, Melbourne-based Croucher comes from Pepper Money ANZ, where he served as general manager, overseeing operations across Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Croucher could not be reached for immediate comment.
The arrival of Croucher marks the latest in a series of leadership changes at the bank.
In addition to Croucher and Wood's promotion, Willsallen was elevated to head of broker distribution in February. This was followed in April by the appointment of former ING executive Ray Esho as general manager for NSW and the ACT. In May, Carolyn McCann began her role as acting chief executive of the consumer bank division.
"We have made no secret of our ambition to be a market leader in the broker channel," Willsallen said. "This has enabled us to attract the best talent in the market to join our broker business."
