The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has inducted 45 leading professionals into its prestigious fellowship ranks for the 2024-25 financial year, recognising long-standing commitment to excellence and integrity in real estate.

The announcement comes as Queensland’s property sector overtakes mining as the state’s top revenue source. According to REIQ analysis of the 2024-25 state budget, real estate will contribute $45.2 billion over the next four years $15 billion more than mining royalties.

Recognising excellence in real estate

REIQ Fellowship is reserved for practising members who have completed 15 years of membership and demonstrated unwavering professional conduct and service to the industry.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella (pictured) said the accolade celebrates members who consistently lead by example.

“Being appointed as an REIQ fellow is a well-earned achievement that reflects sustained commitment to professionalism, integrity, education, and service,” Mercorella said.

“Fellows are leaders in many respects – experienced professionals who have built long-standing careers defined by ongoing development, giving back, and best practice.”

The new group of fellows includes professionals from both metropolitan and regional markets throughout the state

“Whether based in regional towns or major city centres, these members have each demonstrated unwavering dedication to raising the bar in real estate practice,” Mercorella said.

“We are proud to count them among our most respected and valued members.”

Each fellow receives a formal certificate and may use the FREIQ post-nominal to reflect their contribution and status in the profession.

“As we celebrate this milestone with our newest fellows, we hope it inspires the broader membership, and the next generation, to pursue this next level of professional excellence,” Mercorella said.
