The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has announced the national finalists for their MFAA Excellence Awards, with some big names in the running for one of the major gongs in the mortgage broking industry.

The event will be held in person at The Fullerton Hotel in Sydney on Thursday 22 July, having been switched to online last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is set to be hosted by Melissa Doyle, host of Channel Seven’s Sunday Night programme.

There will be 24 awards handed out across the night, with both individuals and companies eligible to win. The names announced today were for the national companies, with some big names included in the running.

Awards are to be handed out in major categories that reward different positions within the industry. The Aggregator Award sees some huge hitters competing, with the likes of Connective, AFG, Loan Market Group, Mortgage Choice, Smartline and FAST all in the running.

Another much coveted gong is the Diversity & Inclusion Program Award, where the finalists are Liberty Financial, Loan Market Group, Mortgage Choice and Smartline.

There are prizes for smaller organisations, too, with the Support Service Provider Award – Small Company set to be contested between Broker Profits Vault, Deposit Assure, Kuone and TrailBlazer Finance. For the same award in large organisations,

The other big awards of the night will be for individual brokers, with categories such as Community Champion Award, Young Professional Award and Newcomer Awards going industry wide, as well as specific prizes for BDMs, Commercial Finance Brokers, Residential Brokers, Equipment Finance Brokers and Loan Administrators.

These prizes are awarded first at state level, with the winners from those jurisdictions then going forward to compete for the national title.

All states will have their own events in June to decide their winners, before travelling on to the national awards evening in Sydney at the end of July.
